Chief Technology Officer

To build this clean future, H2U Technologies is seeking a hardworking and passionate CTO.

Responsibilities
  • To be a technical leader of H2U.

  • Lead the materials research team at H2U including AI driven approaches.

  • Has and will maintain deep insights into the protectable technologies and core competencies of electrochemistry.

  • Is a recognized contributor of cutting-edge research and development in electrochemistry and green hydrogen technology, and in adjacent areas of interest that might have an impact on the H2U’s technical direction.

  • Responsible for technical thought leadership and for maintaining the technical edge of H2U, including managing the company’s patent portfolio.

  • Works closely with the VP of Engineering and their staff, as well as with the company’s patent attorneys to craft and implement a solid intellectual property protection strategy, including filing patents to protect core technologies, performing competitive analysis to ensure that H2U has the freedom to practice its core technologies without infringing on existing patents and the like.

  • Will have influence into the technical strategy, which they co-develop with the VP of Engineering.

  • Will be part of the face of the company and take on speaking engagements outside the company as part of a brand building process.

  • Will be involved in technical due diligence for potential M&A deals.

Requirements
  • Track record of thought leadership in electrochemistry, catalysts and related technology, including patents, papers and presentations.

  • Ability to communicate effectively on technology issues in a global environment

  • Influence without reporting structure and operate without guidance

  • Entrepreneurial instincts with clear bias for informed action

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to use data and metrics for making assumptions and decisions, especially the use of AI driven methods materials discovery.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications across technical and non-technical stakeholders, including presenting to senior executives, board of directors, and the financial community

  • Resolve technical conflict productively across teams including engineering, legal, finance, sales and operations

  • 15+ years of experience in senior technology and/or CTO roles

  • PhD degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences
